First battle, then the shop
How to play Love Maniac
LoveManiac plays as a short overworld wrapped around Undertale-style fights. The itch page lists keyboard, mouse, and touchscreen, plus a one-button accessibility tag. It does not publish a key chart.
You are fighting Chara. FIGHT picks a target and a timing hit. ACT is the route the wiki treats as primary. ITEM spends something from the shop. MERCY is on the battle menu in official screenshots; what each MERCY line does in every fight is not written up on the store page.

Before the first fight
Use the official download or press Run LoveManiac on itch. The game warns that it is 18+. The language menu can switch English, Spanish (Latin America), and Russian. Chinese is not in that list. The store page says subtitles are an accessibility feature.
A comment thread says the mouse-or-keyboard choice is stored in the save and snaps back to keyboard when you load a different slot. Treat that as a player report, not a documented setting.
The battle loop
Official battle frames show Chara above a white box, a heart, and the four commands FIGHT, ACT, ITEM, and MERCY. The status line in those frames reads FRISK LV 20. The 0.3.6 store notes say the laser attack was rebuilt and a finisher was added, so a dodge pattern from an older clip can be wrong. See battles and no-hit.
The Full Nelson wiki article gives six ACTs versus eight attacks for its scene route; those counts have not been tested in 0.3.6. Separately, the official 0.3.4_3 announcement added No Hit mode, which restarts the battle after damage. The mode and the wiki's no-hit scene-unlock condition should not be confused.
Gold, the shop, and Round 2
The Gold wiki article says defeating Chara awards currency, with the Cowgirl scene as an exception. The linked player thread discusses 0.3.5 and reports higher payouts at higher remaining HP, recommending healing toward 99 before winning. The wiki supports the source of gold, not that HP formula. Neither payouts nor the route have been measured in 0.3.6.
Nebby's Shop arrived in the official 0.3.4 notes. Its wiki article describes fixed stock, but the current inventory has not been checked. Strange Pill's article, last edited 8 August 2026, records 200 Gold and Second Round after use and a win. MysteryItem's 10,001 Gold account concerns 0.3.4 EA and 0.3.5. These are not verified 0.3.6 prices or routes; see items and shop and Round 2.
What I will not pretend to know
As of 23 October 2026, I found no reliable bridge-crossing steps in the sources listed on this page. If that blocker is a bug or a missing flag, it belongs on troubleshooting as an open report, not as a three-step puzzle I made up. Gamepad support is also unpublished: the store inputs are keyboard, mouse, and touchscreen only.

FAQ
What are the controls?
The store page lists keyboard, mouse, and touchscreen. The wiki documents Y or Z to interact with Nebby cats. A complete key chart is not published on the official page.
How do I get gold?
The wiki says defeating Chara awards shop gold. A 0.3.5 player thread reports higher payouts at higher HP; that formula has not been tested in 0.3.6.
How do I cross the bridge?
As of 23 October 2026, no reliable steps were found in the sources listed on this page. This guide does not invent one.
Is there a gamepad map?
The itch input list does not include a gamepad. I am not stating that a pad works or that it is blocked.
