Back up meta.json before you experiment
Love Maniac saves and common failures
The save question is the loud one: where the file went after the first fight, and how to copy it. The wiki prints two desktop paths. Android and the browser build are not in that article.
Newer 0.3.6 pain is the RAR archive and a player report of a broken battle. Both are below, separated from confirmed install notes.

Save locations
The File Editing wiki article, last edited on 21 October 2026, gives Windows as %AppData%\Godot\app_userdata\Love Maniac\saves\meta.json and macOS as ~/Library/Application Support/Godot/app_userdata/Love Maniac/save/meta.json. It uses saves on Windows and save on macOS. These paths have not been verified against a running 0.3.6 build. The article says to launch once to create the folder. Before restoring, copy the current meta.json to a separate location so you can roll back; cross-version compatibility is unconfirmed.
The file is JSON. It holds unlock maps, audio volumes, language, and a version integer. That integer in the wiki example is 5 and was not compared with a 0.3.6 file here. There is no sourced description of an autosave that fires the moment the first fight ends, so the "after first fight" search is answered with the path, not with a checkpoint diagram.
Install failures
Windows and Linux 0.3.6 files are RAR. If you see one file and no folder, install 7-Zip or WinRAR and extract. macOS builds are not notarized: System Settings, Privacy & Security, Open Anyway. Team Nebula told a commenter that an antivirus flag can be ignored when the download came from their itch page, and not when it came from somewhere else.
The battle-box report: missing heart, broken sprite, game unplayable, two redownloads, 23 October 2026, no official confirmation on the pages I read. Practical steps that do not assume a cause: extract again, confirm the file name against the download table, and try the browser build. There is no published patch note that says this is fixed.
The official 0.3.6 devlog separately acknowledges random Gallery crashes on some devices. The older 0.3.4_3 notes also described a battle-start softlock, but that historical note does not establish the cause of the current sprite report. Re-extraction and changing platforms are troubleshooting attempts, not confirmed fixes.
Sound, phones, and the bridge
Voice acting was introduced in 0.3.5; 0.3.6 adds moans and further voice lines. Build and audio settings are useful checks, but the version alone does not explain a silent session. Android crashes after the intro are player reports; the current APK is listed at 231 MB. No minimum Android version or confirmed crash fix was found. Android save backup steps are unknown, so do not treat uninstalling or clearing app data as a default fix. First confirm the official package and free storage, restart the device, then record the model, OS, and game version in a report. iPhone has no official package.
Mouse and keyboard mode is stored per save, according to comments on the official itch page, and can snap back to keyboard. No reliable bridge walkthrough was found in the sources checked. The developer's official bug form returned a Google login or necessary-cookie requirement during the anonymous check on 23 October 2026. If it is inaccessible, use the official itch comments.

FAQ
Where is the Love Maniac save file?
The wiki gives Windows: %AppData%\Godot\app_userdata\Love Maniac\saves\meta.json, and macOS: Love Maniac/save/meta.json. Paths are untested in 0.3.6; Android is undocumented.
Why is the download one file?
0.3.6 Windows and Linux builds are RAR archives. Extract them with 7-Zip or WinRAR.
Why is there no voice?
0.3.5 introduced voice acting; 0.3.6 added moans and further lines. Check your build and audio settings. Version alone does not diagnose a silent session.
Why can't I cross the bridge?
As of 23 October 2026, no reliable steps were found in the sources listed on this page.
