Second Round, not a new game

How to get Round 2

Players ask how to get round 2 in Love Maniac. The community wiki calls the scene mechanic Second Round: an extended variant of a scene. The instructions below follow that documentation and have not been repeated in 0.3.6.

The item it names is Strange Pill, recorded at 200 Gold in the article last edited on 8 August 2026. MysteryItem is a different item, recorded at 10,001 Gold; its blocked-acquisition account is explicitly about 0.3.4 EA and a 0.3.5 report needing more testing.

The three steps the wiki gives

These steps come from the Strange Pill and Second Round articles. Strange Pill's article was last edited on 8 August 2026; that does not prove when its price was tested. Neither price nor route was checked in 0.3.6.

Buy Strange Pill in Nebby's Shop; the older wiki record gives 200 Gold. Check the current in-game price.
Use it during a Chara encounter; the wiki says it does not restore HP.
Defeat Chara; the wiki describes unlocking that scene's Second Round variant.

It is per scene

The wiki describes Second Round as a variant for an individual scene, rather than a global switch. Its Scenes article lists Nebby Fingering as an exception. The Strange Pill article says the item also grants an action for both Nebby Pass exclusive scenes. These are community descriptions, not verified explanations for every failed unlock in 0.3.6.

The Full Nelson article advises using Strange Pill before a no-hit attempt to avoid repeating the route for its Second Round variant. That route has not been tested here in 0.3.6. For gold, the linked player thread discusses 0.3.5 and recommends high remaining HP; see how to play.

FAQ

How do I get round 2?

The wiki describes buying and using Strange Pill, then defeating Chara. Its article last edited 8 August 2026 lists 200 Gold; price and route are untested in 0.3.6.

I bought a pill and nothing happened.

The wiki lists Nebby Fingering as having no Second Round and requires use plus a win for other encounters. These older instructions have not been tested in 0.3.6.

Is the mysterious item the round 2 item?

No. The wiki distinguishes Strange Pill from MysteryItem. Its 10,001 Gold MysteryItem record describes 0.3.4 EA and 0.3.5, not verified 0.3.6 behavior.

Where is the shop?

In the overworld, run by Nebby, since version 0.3.4. A precise map coordinate is not published.
